Today’s featured author is George Moakley, whose career bridges the worlds of science, technology, and storytelling.
Originally a biology student with dreams of fieldwork and ecosystem modeling, George entered the tech industry, where he designed Edge Intelligence solutions, led strategic planning workshops, and earned several patents. He also serves in advisory roles with Arizona State University’s School of Business and UC Irvine’s Customer Experience Program.
A lifelong fan of science fiction and the hard sciences, George combines his passion for technology with his deep concern for the environment. His global travels — from hiking to scuba diving — have shown him both the beauty of nature and the devastating impact of climate change and overexploitation. A 2019 meeting with The Nature Conservancy sparked a thought experiment that ultimately inspired his novel Kraken of Eden.
Now based in Arizona with his partner Diana, George continues to write stories that ask tough questions about humanity’s future, blending scientific insight with compelling imagination. His work challenges readers to think critically about our world while still offering the thrill of adventure and discovery. Visit www.georgemoakley.com
