Meet Jean Klein, a storyteller who brings depth, compassion, and authenticity to every page. Drawing from her careers as both a registered nurse and middle school language arts teacher, Jean crafts emotionally layered fiction that explores the complexities of the human heart.

Her debut novel, Death by Misadventure, is a suspenseful and moving exploration of guilt, deception, and the consequences of buried secrets. When a stormy night leads to tragedy, an esteemed doctor’s life begins to unravel — setting off a chain of lies, heartbreak, and truth-seeking that tests the limits of love and justice. At its core, it’s a story about the enduring connections between mothers and daughters, and how our choices echo far beyond the moment.

Jean’s work has been shaped by her time as a Byrdcliffe Artist-in-Residence in Woodstock, New York, and her ongoing participation in the Writer’s Studio in Tucson, Arizona, where she continues to refine her craft. A native of Glenview, Illinois, she now calls Phoenix home — a city that also serves as the vivid backdrop for her debut novel. Her forthcoming second crime novel, Anonymous, promises another gripping journey through the shadows of human experience.
