Sometimes the story we're meant to tell is the one we almost never write.
For A.C. Nightingale, a lifelong love of storytelling was often accompanied by self-doubt. After stepping away from writing more than once during her teenage years, she made one final promise to herself: to give her dream one last chance at the age of 29.
That decision changed everything.
When the idea for The Daisy Chain Reaction arrived, A.C. knew she had found the story she was meant to tell. Following its release on January 1, 2025, she immersed herself in the independent publishing world, discovering not only a passion for writing but also a deep appreciation for connecting directly with readers through self-publishing.
As a hard-of-hearing author who relies on American Sign Language in high-volume environments, A.C. is committed to bringing authentic Deaf characters and Deaf culture into her stories. She believes literature benefits from realistic representation and hopes her work helps readers experience perspectives that have too often been overlooked.
When she isn't writing, A.C. enjoys getting lost in a good book or spending time playing video games—two passions that continue to inspire her imagination and creativity.
Visitors to Scottsdale Book Festival 2027 will have the opportunity to meet A.C. Nightingale, discover The Daisy Chain Reaction, and connect with an author whose journey reminds us that it's never too late to believe in your own story.
About A.C. Nightingale
A.C. Nightingale has had a passion for stories her entire life. After repeatedly giving up on herself and her writing throughout her teen years, she finally decided to give it one last shot at 29 years old.
When the idea for The Daisy Chain Reaction came to her, she knew it was the story she was destined to tell. Since its release on January 1, 2025, she has thrown herself into the deep end of the indie author world and has grown to love writing and self-publishing even more.
When she isn't writing, she's reading. When she's not reading, she's playing video games.
As a hard-of-hearing woman who depends on American Sign Language during high-volume atmospheres, she includes Deaf characters and Deaf culture in her works. She believes that literature needs more realistic Deaf representation and strives to be part of that solution.
