About M. M. De Voe
M. M. De Voe is an internationally published fictionista of many genres, poet, actress, photographer, playwright, and all-around arts enabler. A Columbia University Writing Fellow under Michael Cunningham, she has been winning awards since 1999.
To help other writers stay on creative track after having kids, she founded the nonprofit Pen Parentis in 2014 and authored a guide for writer-parents, Book & Baby (First Prize, Next Generation Indie Book Awards).
Her fiction was included in Twisted Book of Shadows, which won a 2020 Shirley Jackson Award. Kirkus Reviews called A Flash of Darkness: Collected Stories of M. M. De Voe (Borda Books, 2023) "ominous, masterfully crafted psychological fiction."
