Meet Ruben Najera — a powerhouse creator whose career spans professional skateboarding, comic book storytelling, stunt performance, music, and entertainment production. Born and raised in El Centro, California and now residing in Arizona, Ruben discovered his creative spark early, making music at age five and developing a lifelong passion for comic books, skateboarding, and film.

As a former professional skateboarder, Ruben made history with the world’s first triple varial flip — known as the Nar Flip — a groundbreaking move that remains iconic more than 20 years later. His influence extended far beyond the skatepark, from performing stunt work in movies and music videos to appearing on the cover of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic… in cartoon form, skating right alongside the heroes.

Ruben’s entrepreneurial journey is equally impressive. His PowerBar signature “Triple Threat” granola bars sold millionsof units worldwide, breaking sales records for Nestlé. He also owns the Eisner-nominated METAHUMANS comic shop and is the visionary behind the Imperial Valley Entertainment Convention, Palm Springs Entertainment Convention, and Casa Grande Entertainment Convention — each a thriving hub for fandom and creativity.

As a writer, Ruben has worked across iconic properties, including Archie Comics (“The Best Archie Comic Ever”) featuring Betty, Veronica, and Archie. He is also the creator of the hit series CALAGUERRA published by BloodMoon Comics, and the writer and letterer for the LINKIN PARK comic book published by 10 Ton Press. His creative influence continues to expand as he serves as an associate producer on the upcoming documentary TMNT: Evolution, Mutation, & Reboot.
